Pastor Chris Hermansen - email
![]() Chris has been at Lord of Grace since September of 2005. This is the first church that Chris has served since his graduation from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. At Lord of Grace Chris works with the junior and senior high youth programs as well as the college group, 20s and 30s group and the church's motorcycle group. Chris is very passionate about preaching, worship, and deepening others faith in Jesus Christ. Although this is Chris' first church he is no stranger to the ministry. His father has been a Lutheran Pastor for almost 30 years. Chris' roots are in Minnesota, where both of his parents grew up and his extended family still live, but he has lived most of his life in the North West. Chris was born in Vancouver, WA, lived in two small towns in Washington (Montesano and Elma) before his family landed in Seaside, OR where they lived for ten years. Following high school Chris attended Concordia University in Portland, OR on a soccer and choir scholarship. It was during his first year at Concordia that Chris felt his calling to become a pastor. Chris received a BA from Concordia in theology and almost returned to Minnesota to attend seminary but ended up in California. Chris spent the third year of his seminary training on internship in Starbuck, MN, a small town in west-central Minnesota.
In February of 2007 Chris was married to Gina Posey. They were married here at Lord of Grace and were very excited to share this event with their Lord of Grace church family. Gina and Chris have two children, Kellyn and Kendra, and are expecting their third child around Christmas this year. Chris enjoys music and sports. He recently wrapped up his second season working with the Marana High School boy's varsity soccer team, this was Chris' first year as the head coach. He also plays with the EDGE band once in a while, doing his best "Steve Williams" impersonation. Chris's parents live east of Seattle in North Bend, WA where his father is a pastor at Mt Si Lutheran Church. Chris has one sister who is a special education teacher and lives in Portland, OR. |
