October 2005 Long Range Goals:
1. Expansion of parking lot and adding an additional exit
2. Developing a prayer team
3. Developing mini-retreats for various ministries
4. Sponsor missions overseas
5. Developing a Preschool
6. More men woman groups
7. Satellite church
June 2006 Long Range Goals:
1. Worship Experience
Look at sound system, lighting, organ etc.
Chris will develop a committee to research the improvement of the lighting and sound systems.
Norm Ritzen is willing to head up a committee to research the purchase of an organ. This committee should be included in the worship enhancement committee.
Mike suggested having an interior designer/architect to look at our existing space and give ideas on how to make the simple low cost improvements to include more storage, office space etc.
2a. Expansion of Youth Program
Expansion of youth program is important to expansion of the church.
Purchase a bus to pick up children for Sunday school.
Develop an after school program. Use bus to pick up students from schools and transport children to church for after school programs
Paint the bus and use for advertisement
May need to have a paid staff person as the bus driver
Investigate contracting with a charter bus company
Establish a commitment to research the options and develop a proposal
Chris and Vicki will co-chair the committee to research this issue. Mike and Ron will meet with insurance agent next week to discuss insurance requirements related to the purchase of a van or bus.
Dale strongly encouraged that we get a staff person for this ministry.
2b. Expansion of Facilities
Discussion of adding the second Sunday school building
Parking is limiting expansion.
Purchasing a van and shuttling members from off site parking lot.
Intern has a degree in architecture and may be able to look at plans and make suggestions.
Mike strongly encouraged us to develop a systematic approach to any form of expansion
3. Development of a Satellite Church
Dale suggests that a satellite church be on the top of the list.
Begin as a preaching point. Preaching point needs to have a consistent figure. Roy Guinn may be a possibility. Preaching point would embrace the developing of the satellite.
Dale believes in mission expansion. Dale is targeting the North Marana area.
Could evolve as another campus of LOG or may develop into a separate church.
Perhaps have services in Estes Elementary school.
Use some of the start up money from our savings account. This would make changes at LOG. All members with last name starting with A-B worships at satellite church one week and the following week members with C-D. Use guest choir or musicians. House everything out of LOG.
This project needs to have consistency of people, needs a commitment of money, needs the development of a timeline and needs research before beginning this process.
4. 10 Year Anniversary Party
Pandora, Vicki, Joan, Carol will work on anniversary team
Use the yes sheets to ask for committee members. It is important to get a cross section of members for each committee in order to get a well rounded perspective for each growth area.
