June 17, 2007 - Founding Pastor Dale Moe shared his last sermon as Senior Pastor with the congregation of Lord of Grace

1981 = Land site is purchased by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America... The land is located on the intersection of Ina Rd. and Cortaro Rd.
April 1996 = The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (E.L.C.A.) and the division for outreach officially calls Pastor Dale L. Moe to be the mission developer.
June 1996 = Pastor Dale, Sunni and family (Alex, Chelsee) purchase a home in Continental Ranch.
July 1996 = Initial door-to-door calling begins in designated service area (Continental Ranch). Pastor Moe initially visits over 2,000 homes.
Oct. 1, 1996 = Haley Moe is born. The birth of Pastor Moe's third child falls on the eve of the birth of the congregation---Lord of Grace Church.
Oct. 13, 1996 = First worship service held at Coyote Trail Elementary School.
Nov. 17, 1996 = Sunday School begins.
Jan. 1997 = Leadership team formulated.
Nov. 2, 1997 = The signing of the Charter membership begins.
Dec. 1997 = Average Worship attendance for first full year is 101.
Jan. 1998 = "In Home Dinners" to discuss the mission and vision of the Church.
Oct. 25, 1998 = Consecration Sunday-Responding to God's gifts and rejoicing in the Lord for all that He has given us. This is where we make an estimate of our giving for the year so that we will be able to develop a Church ministry budget and carry out the work of the Lord. Our weekly giving doubles!
Nov. 1998 = Patti Comerford is hired as parish administrator of Lord of Grace.
Dec. 1998 = Average worship attendance for second full year is 148.
Jan. 17, 1999 = Lord of Grace Church become officially organized with 286 charter members. The first church council is appointed (Council President is Gary Chupp, Vice President/Stewardship is Jack Culbert, Property Chair is Bill Dowling, Evangelism Chair is Larry Butterfield, Youth and Fellowship Chair is Pat Nathan, Education Chair is Adriane Ahnstedt, Treasure is Tim Giffen, Secretary is Carol Buuck, Education Chair is Rick Ellis)
Jan. 17, 1999 = Church becomes self supporting.
Jan. 1999 = Church council has it's first retreat as a church council.
Feb. 1999 = Building Committee is appointed by church council. Chairperson is Gary Johnson, and the committee members are Steve Coombs, Gayle Wetmore, Ray Seibold, Ruth Sears, Lyn Nelson and David Jankowski.
May 16, 1999 = Pastor Dale Moe officially is called and accepts the call at Lord of Grace Lutheran Church at its first annually meeting.
June 4, 1999 = Grand Canyon Synod of the E.L.C.A. officially receives into membership Lord of Grace Lutheran Church at the Synod assembly. Fifty charter members from Lord of Grace attended reception in Phoenix at Synod Assembly.
June 15, 1999 = Two council members resign (Rick Ellis and Adriane Ahnstedt) due to conflict of schedules yet they remain vibrant members of the church. Phyllis Teager is appointed educational chair and Annette Jones is appointed worship chair.
July 13, 1999 = Land is purchased by Lord of Grace Church from the E.L.C.A. at roughly $50,000.00 for 4 acres of land at the crossroads of Ina and Cortaro Rd.
Aug. 1999 = Tim Giffen resigns as church treasurer due to work schedules and John Sr. Teager is appointed in his place as interim until he officially joins church in October 1999. Tim Giffen remains a active member at Lord of Grace.
Sept. 1999 = Average worship attendance is 174.
Sept. 1999 = Jack Culbert resigns as Vice-president and stewardship chairperson due to a new job.
Oct. 1999 = Carol Buuck becomes vice-president of church council, Dan Heston replaces Carol as council secretary, and Nancy Biehl is appointed interim treasurer as John Sr. Teager resigns.
Jan. 2000 = Church council meets for an annual retreat.
Jan. 2000 = Average worship attendance for the start of the new year is 225.
Feb.6-13, 2000 = A Sabbath rest week is put into progress and the theme of the week is "Take Time for Jesus!" There are no scheduled church events for this week.
Feb. 6, 2000 = Nancy Biehl becomes the official treasurer as she joins the congregation as an official member.
Feb./March 2000 = Lord of Grace begins it's capital campaign with Kairos. Pastor Renee Liabraaten leads the appeal.
March 2000 = Lord of Grace church wins the city league basketball tournament.
April 2000 = We celebrate Easter 2000 with just over four hundred people worshipping at three services.
May 2000 = New positions are elected to the outgoing council positions. Laurie Johnson is elected council president, Betty Johnson is elected Worship Chair, John Gerhart is elected Vice-president/Stewardship Chair, Melissa Elias is elected Educational Chair, and Mark Culbert is elected Youth and Fellowship Chair.
May 2000 = John Sr. Teager is appointed Treasure of Building Committee. Chairman Gary Johnson resigns as building chairman due to health related concerns and Dave Jankowski is appointed as the replacement.
June / July 2000 = Dave Jankowski resigns as chairman of building committee because of a job transfer and Bill Dowling and Phyllis Teager are appointed co-chairs of the building committee. Warren Donnelly and Dan Janke are asked to replace the outgoing building positions.
Aug. 2000 = Lord of Grace Church becomes a part of the Stephens Ministry---A Christ Care ministry for the faith community. Linda Butterfield is the first commissioned lay leader of the Stephens Ministry at Lord of Grace. Linda is commissioned along with Pastor Dale Moe on Sept. 24th 2000.
Oct. 2000 = Lord of Grace Church wins the city league Volleyball tournament.
Oct. 2000 = Mark Culbert resigns his council position because of work schedules. Carolyn Bernheim is appointed as his replacement.
Nov. 2000 = Focus Groups (kitchen, sanctuary, classrooms, office, etc.) are meeting to discuss the new building.
Dec. 2000 = Norm Ritzen joins the building team.
Dec. 2000 = 350 people gather for two Christmas Eve worship services.
Dec. 2000 = We voted on our 2001 budget on Dec. 10th.
April 15, 2001 = We had 420 people gathered for Easter services and 170 people were feed Easter Breakfast.
April 2001 = Tom McKenna is asked to serve on building team.
May 6, 2001 = New council is elected. Laurie Johnson continues to serve as president; LuAnn McCarty is elected Vice-President, Linda Butterfield is elected Worship Chair; Melissa Elias continues to serve as Education Chair; Carolyn Bernheim continues to serve as Youth and Fellowship Chair; Julie Ornelas is elected Evangelism Chair; Steve Coombs is elected Property Chair; Nancy Hall continues as Treasurer; and Barb Genualdi serves as Secretary.
May 19, 2001 = We had our ground breaking for our new church with roughly 300 people at the worship service and roughly 250 at the catered dinner following the ground breaking.
June 24, 2001 = Caroline Montelongo is installed as part-time children's music minister at Lord of Grace.
September 9th, 2001 = Jeremy Miller is installed as part-time youth minister at Lord of Grace.

Sept. 2001 = Frank Kischer resigns as music director and Helen Thoenes takes over as an interim.
Sept. 2001 = Josh Lamoreaux is secured as keyboard player for second worship service.
Nov. 6, 2001 = Building permits are secured and building begins-projected to be finished in 180 days or 6 months.
Dec. 2001 = Adam Boyles comes on board as the choir director. And Carol Duerr is the piano accompanist.
Dec. 24, 2001 = 430 people gather for two Christmas Eve worship services.
Jan. 2002 = Foundation is laid for our new building.
March 31, 2002 = We worship 450 at the two Easter services.
May 12, 2002 = First Worship service in the new building. We worshipped 625 people at two services. The place was packed.
May 19, 2002 = New Council is elected. Tom McKenna is elected President; LuAnn McCarty continues as Vice-President; Linda Butterfield continues as Worship Chair; Jim DuBois is elected Property Chair; Cheryl Mattingly is elected Evangelism Chair; Jynn Ehler is elected Youth and Fellowship Chair; Shannan Heston is elected Christian Education Chair; Lori Brown is elected Treasurer; and Debbie Paschal serves as Secretary.
Oct. 6, 2002 = 21 family units and 50 new members received into membership this day. First new members since moving into the new church building.
Oct. 13, 2002 = Dedication service at 3:00p.m. This marks the 6th year anniversary of Lord of Grace and our first worship service.
Feb. 2, 2003 = 11 family units and 24 new members received into membership this day.
April 20, 2003 = Easter Sunday and at three services we worship 577 in our new building. First Easter in our new building.
May 2003 = 37 New Members, 19 family units received into membership this month.
May 1, 2003 = Irene Potts is hired as our family minister coordinator.
Sept. 2004 = MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) begins here at Lord of Grace.
Sept. 28, 2003 = 11 confirmands are confirmed and are recognized as adult members of the church.
Nov. 2004 = Cindy Rosemore is hired on part-time as Office assistant-back-up.
Jan. 11, 2004 = A new Sunday night 5:00p.m. worship service begins-called the EDGE (Eager Disciples by God's Encouraging). Lead by the Senior High Youth.
Jan. 20, 2004 = Tom Shambo named church treasurer.
Sept. 26, 2004 = 13 confirmands are confirmed into the faith at Lord of Grace.
Oct. 2004 = Church council contemplates land expansion, additional staff, preschool, building expansion, and a future satellite ministry startup.
Dec. 2004 = Congregation approves 2005 budget which includes the hiring of another pastor in the later part of 2005.
Dec. 2004 = The year ended with 24 baptisms in the year 2004. The most we have had in any one year. The year 2003 we had 23 baptisms.
Jan. 2005 = Cindy Rosemore officially becomes part of our office staff-part-time Administrative Secretary.
Feb. 2005 = A group is formulated to start looking into the possibility of a preschool.
Feb. 2005 = A organ fund is started in our church.
March 2005 = A group is formulated to pursue the call of a second pastor.
May 2005 = Extend a call to Pastor Chris Hermansen as associate Pastor here at Lord of Grace.
Aug. 2005 = Lord of Grace Pre-school begins and Cathy Lundeberg is hired as pre-school director.
Sept. 2005 = Pastor Chris Hermansen begins his call at Lord of Grace Church and is installed the first Sunday in Oct.
Dec. 2005 = We ended the year with 22 baptisms.
Jan. 2006 = Cappie Bennett is hired on as a second part-time Administrative Secretary.
Jan. 2006 = Shannan Heston is hired on a permanent Lord of Grace book-keeper.
August 2006 = Pastor Andrew comes on board as intern pastor.
October 2006 = Church celebrates 10 year anniversary
