Evangelism Making Christ Known: As Christians, we are called to speak about the reasons we trust in the Lord. Are you ready to talk about what you believe? There is a hunger in our land - a hunger for a word that will hold us - and that Word is Jesus! So how are we spreading his Word? Are you using your talents and blessings out in the community in a way that will make Christ known? What invitations have you made lately to bring others to hear Christ's message of hope and salvation? One of the most common phrases we hear in the Gospel is, "Do not be afraid." It is as if Jesus knew that we would need to hear it over and over again. We need to find a way not to be afraid to be Christ's disciples in any situation. We need to be able to say, "Do not be afraid," to people who feel deep hurts or emptiness. Lord of Grace Church is, and will continue to seek even more ways to be and extension of the body of Christ. Evangelism here at Lord of Grace is about sharing God's gift of love for all. Moreover, we are called to be intimately connected to the entire community, whether it's our home, neighborhood, congregation, or world. Thus, our calling in response to the Gospel is an opportunity to share his Word in any situation 24/7! Evangelism, itself, includes the commitment to, and articulation of, both the Law and Gospel - we are to be unafraid to name the name of Jesus. It calls us to become like Christ to one another, to listen to people, to hear and feel their needs and agendas and then speak in love, mercy, and justice. What we have as Christians is a wonderful gift, a God-given gift which enables us to spread the message of grace through faith in Jesus. And so evangelism, with God in the center and the incarnation theology all around (which is the Spirit), proclaims his glory boldly. So, then, are we bold enough to live our faith and intentionally share our faith? Let's be his disciples! Let's tell the story! |
